While it is famously known as the City of Churches, Adelaide actually has a lot more going for it than just a few steeples.
It has iconic buildings like the Festival Theatre and is one of few cities built on a river and surrounded by parklands.
Personally, what I love about Adelaide is its sense of soul. But to keep its soul and energy Adelaide needs to be constantly revitalised, and that starts with invigorating its hub - the City of Adelaide.

I am passionate about keeping Adelaide alive. For the 20,000 people who live here. For the 100,000 people who work here. And for the thousands that travel here each year.
I hope this wesite will act as a forum for everyone who has a stake in the city, even if they’re not able to vote in this coming Council election.
But here are a few of the things I believe we need to be doing to keep Adelaide alive.
- Get more people living in the city. To keep the streets alive, Adelaide needs a population boost and to get that population boost, we need to actively encourage new ideas and planned city development.
- Promote business. Viable, strong local businesses provide the activity and buzz we need. Businesses should be engaged and encouraged to help develop their own place in Adelaide’s culture.
- Celebrate youth. Over 55% of people who live in Adelaide are under the age of 34, but I know that a great deal more that live in the city are young at heart.
Let’s give them a reason to stay.
- Don’t be a fuddy-duddy town. Adelaide has the tendency to knock back new ideas and revert to the default position. Let’s make sure we don’t have a reputation for hanging out the ‘closed for business’ sign.
- Build a sustainable city. Adelaide has a great opportunity develop an environmentally sustainable capital city. Let’s recycle our rubbish, not old councillors.
