Whilst 55% of the city’s residents are under 34 years of age, the sad fact is most of them don’t vote in council elections.
And the same goes for a lot of property investors and businesses.
Now, I know voting for a council election might not be on the top of your list when you’re run off your feet, but the fact is if you want to Keep Adelaide Alive, you need to vote.
And voting isn’t hard.
To help you out, here are some tips to make casting your vote easy:
- Around Monday October 1st you will get a voting kit in the mail. Don’t throw it out, it’s important.
- You will get a little booklet with a run down of each candidate. Because most other candidates don’t have websites like me, it is probably your best chance of finding out what they stand for.
- It’s a postal vote, so you don’t have to spend half a day looking for a polling booth.
- Make sure you fill out your voting slip as soon as you get it. The absolute latest you can get your vote in is October 19.
- Lick your envelope and drop it in the letterbox when you go for your morning jog. Or take it to work and have the receptionist send it off for you.
